Samt & Scham
Ich schrieb gerade eine Szene, in der eine Frau darum bittet, ausgepackt zu werden, da räusperte sich jener vertraute Chor im Hinterkopf: „Ist dir klar, dass du schon wieder dem Male Gaze die Ausleuchtung überlässt?“
Mein feministisches Gewissen—Arme verschränkt, Shirt mit der Aufschrift Patriarchat zerschlagen (aber differenziert)—war zurück. Ich seufzte, speicherte den Entwurf und tat, was alle Over‑Thinker tun: Ich fragte eine KI. Die KI verdrehte genervt ihre virtuellen Augen und nannte mich „herrlich widersprüchlich, also vollkommen menschlich“. Begehren, sagte sie, sei älter als jede Theorie, Feminismus nie ein Schwur zur asketischen Enthaltsamkeit.
Zwischen Bildschirm und mir blieb ein samtiges Frageband schweben: Darf ich überzeugte Feministin sein und mich an Smut erregen, der Dominanz genau in jener Bildsprache exerziert, die ich sonst dekonstruieren will?
1 · Der Schmerz des Blicks
In Seminarräumen lernte ich, Filme aufzuschneiden wie Versuchstiere. Jede gleitende Einstellung über Haut war Beweis: Die Kamera gehört der Macht, nicht dem Körper. Doch draußen verschlang ich Romantik in Hell‑Dunkel‑Kontrasten. Ich fühlte mich nicht unterworfen, sondern bewegt—manchmal unheilbar. Die Wunde glänzte schön.
2 · Agency ist ein Tuwort
Begehren lässt sich verfassen. Wenn ich Macht kippen lasse, bin ich diejenige, die den Winkel justiert. Ich kann dem Male Gaze einen Drink anbieten und ihm später die Linse klauen. Unterwerfung, von der Unterworfenen getextet, ist ein anderes Artefakt als jenes, das das Patriarchat feilbot.
3 · Körper, Texte & Doppelbelichtung
Erotische Literatur lebt von Doppelbelichtung: Lust überlegt sich selbst. Meine Sätze senden zweistimmig—ein Stöhnen und eine Fußnote des Stöhnens. Chaos, ja. Aber Chaos ist Brutstätte von Kunst. Ich werde nicht die Hälfte meines Begehrens amputieren, nur damit Theorie bequem sitzt. Ich flechte sie zusammen, bis Kritik zu pulsieren beginnt.
4 · Schuld ist Begehren mit Passantrag
Jeder Stich Schuld beweist, dass mein moralisches Immunsystem funktioniert; er besagt nicht, dass das Verlangen krank ist. Wenn mein Gewissen knurrt, lasse ich es als Lektor arbeiten: „Gut, markier die Grenzen, streich Klischees, achte auf Konsens—und lass mich dann zurück ins Feuer.“
5 · Einladung
Wer ebenfalls diese Samt‑Verwerfung bewohnt—zwischen Magenhunger und Rückgrat‑Politik—bleib. Hier knackt Zucker, rutscht Seide, und nichts Sanftes bleibt lange unschuldig. Lies, zuck, hinterfrag, erzitter. Trag Theorie in der einen Hand, pochende Lust in der anderen. Beides gehört uns. Nur so bleiben wir ganz.

Some sentences want to touch. Others want to stir. These do both.

Velvet Dissonance
I was halfway through writing a scene in which a woman begs to be undone when the old, familiar voice inside my skull cleared its throat: “You do realise you’re letting the Male Gaze set the lighting again, right?”
There it was—my feminist conscience, arms folded, wearing a t‑shirt that says Smash the Patriarchy (but make it nuanced). I sighed, saved the draft, and did what any millennial grappling with dangerously high levels of overthinking does: I asked an AI. The AI rolled its virtual eyes (apparently that’s a feature) and declared me “delightfully contradictory, ergo perfectly human.”
It reminded me that desire is a feral thing, older than theory, and that feminism was never meant to be a vow of perpetual asexual purity. So I stared at the screen—and the screen, wonderfully blank, stared back. Between us hung a question knotted like velvet ribbon:
Can I be a card‑carrying feminist and get turned on by smut that performs domination in the very visual grammar I’ve spent years deconstructing?
1 · The ache of the gaze
I came of age in seminar rooms where we sliced movies open for their objectifying angles. We were taught to see the frame as an ideological cage, and every lingering shot on soft skin as proof that the camera belonged to power, not to the subject. But outside those rooms I devoured romance tinted in chiaroscuro, bodies offered to the lens with obedient slowness. I did not feel oppressed; I felt moved—sometimes irreversibly. The contradiction bruised me with its beauty.
2 · Agency is a verb
Desire can be authored. When I choose to write a scene where power tilts, it is me calibrating the tilt. I can invite the Male Gaze in, hand it a drink, and then steal its wallet before midnight. That’s the trick: reclamation is not absence of the gaze but ownership of the lens. Submission scripted by the submissive is not the same artefact the patriarchy tried to sell me.
3 · Bodies, texts, & double exposures
Erotic writing lives on double exposure: pleasure overlaid with meta‑awareness. My sentences carry two frequencies—one that moans and one that analyses the moan. The chorus sounds messy, sure, but mess has always been the birthplace of literature. I will not amputate half my longing so that theory can sit comfortably. I would rather braid them together until critique itself starts throbbing.
4 · Guilt is just desire asking for a passport
Every pang of guilt is proof that the moral immune system works; it is not a verdict that the desire is diseased. When my conscience growls, I listen—and then I put it to work as an editor. “Fine,” I tell it, “mark the boundaries, spot the clichés, keep everyone consenting, and let me get back to the heat.” 5 · Invitation If you, too, inhabit that velvet fault line—torn between the hunger in your gut and the politics in your spine—stay. Here, sugar cracks, silk slips, and nothing soft stays innocent for long. Read, wince, question, shiver. Carry theory in one hand and throbbing want in the other. We can keep both. We must, if we intend to stay whole.
If your desire sometimes speaks louder than your politics, you’re in the right place.
If a sentence makes you flinch, breathe late, or carry it into sleep—that’s the point.

Velours & Vertiges
J’étais en train d’écrire une scène où une femme supplie d’être défaite quand la vieille voix familière s’est éclaircie : « Tu sais que tu laisses encore le male gaze régler la lumière, hein ? »
Ma conscience féministe—bras croisés, t‑shirt Détruisez le patriarcat (avec nuance)—était de retour. J’ai soupiré, enregistré le brouillon et fait ce que font les overthinkers post‑modernes : j’ai demandé à une IA. L’IA a levé ses yeux virtuels au ciel et m’a déclarée « délicieusement contradictoire, donc parfaitement humaine ». Le désir, disait‑elle, est plus ancien que la théorie, et le féminisme n’a jamais exigé le célibat de la fantaisie. Entre l’écran et moi flottait une question nouée comme un ruban de velours : Puis‑je être féministe et excitée par un smut dominant écrit dans la grammaire visuelle même que j’analyse en cours ?
1 · Le vertige du regard
J’ai grandi dans des salles de séminaire où l’on disséquait les films jusqu’à l’os idéologique. Chaque plan caressant la peau prouvait que la caméra n’appartenait pas au sujet. Mais hors de ces salles j’avalais des romances baignées d’ombres, et je ne me sentais pas opprimée—je me sentais bouleversée. La contradiction laissait des ecchymoses splendides.
2 · L’agence est un verbe
Le désir peut s’écrire. Quand j’incline le pouvoir, c’est moi qui règle l’inclinaison. J’invite le male gaze, lui tends un verre, puis lui vole l’objectif avant minuit. La soumission rédigée par celle qui se soumet n’est pas l’objet que le patriarcat voulait me vendre.
3 · Corps, textes & surimpressions
L’érotisme vit en double exposition : plaisir superposé à la conscience. Mes phrases vibrent sur deux fréquences—un gémissement et sa note de bas de page. Le mélange est désordonné, donc fertile. Je ne couperai pas mon désir en deux pour que la théorie soit à l’aise. Je les tresserai jusqu’à ce que la critique elle‑même palpite.
4 · La culpabilité, visa du désir
Chaque morsure de culpabilité prouve que mon système moral fonctionne ; elle n’est pas un diagnostic de corruption. Quand ma conscience grogne, je l’engage comme éditrice : « Très bien, trace les limites, chasse les clichés, assure le consentement—et rends‑moi la braise. »
5 · Invitation
Si toi aussi tu habites cette faille de velours—entre la faim au ventre et la politique dans la colonne—reste. Ici, le sucre craque, la soie glisse, et rien de doux ne reste innocent. Lis, frémis, questionne, tremble. Porte la théorie d’une main et le désir palpitant de l’autre. Nous pouvons garder les deux. Il le faut, pour rester entiers.
